چکیده

The ignition, puffing and sooting characteristics of Chinese RP-3 kerosene droplet burning have been studied using high-speed, OH* chemiluminescence soot thermal radiation imaging. experiments were conducted in air at standard temperature sub-atmospheric pressures ranging from 0.2 bar to 1 bar. was supported by a thermocouple tip ignited retractable coiled heating wire. results showed that the ignition delay time increased with decrease ambient pressure, due an distance between oxygen molecules. Steady disruptive identified following ignition. images spherical flame longer standoff under lower pressure. intensity observed be enhanced reduction decreased pressure found emission.

Methodical Aspects of Investigation of Kerosene Ignition and Combustion in Scramjet Model

Introduction The latest studies of the overall characteristics of hypersonic flying vehicles with airbreathing engines have shown that these vehicles are fairly promising. Some additional problems arise, however, that are related to the definition of the general shape of the aircraft, the choice of propulsion type and operation regimes, the engine size and position on the aircraft body. There h...

Evaporation and Ignition Characteristics of Water Emulsified Diesel under Conventional and Low Temperature Combustion Conditions

The combination of emulsified diesel and low temperature combustion (LTC) technology has great potential in reducing engine emissions. A visualization study on the spray and combustion characteristics of water emulsified diesel was conducted experimentally in a constant volume chamber under conventional and LTC conditions. The effects of ambient temperature on the evaporation, ignition and comb...

Two Phase Heat Transfer Characteristics in a Vertical Small Diameter Tube at Sub Atmospheric Pressure

Two-phase heat transfer is experimentally examined through vertical small diameter tubes, D =1.45 and 2.8 mm using water under a pressure of 50 to 81 kPa and a natural circulation condition. The pool boiling correlation by Stephan-Abdelsalam and the thermosyphon boiling correlation by Imura, et al. predict the measured experimental data in the 2.8 mm tube with an error of -30%. A large heat tra...

High Pressure Combustion and Supersonic Jet Ignition for H2/air

There are many incentives to increase the fuel efficiency of combustion processes. This paper looks at two available options to achieve this goal. The former aims to develop an experimental method that can analyze combustion at extremely high pressures to improve the understanding of high pressure H2/air combustion. Experimental data has been lacking a suitable combustion diagnostic to visualiz...

Nonperiodic oscillations of Pressure in a SPARK Ignition Combustion Engine

We report our results on non-periodic experimental time series of pressure in a spark ignition engine. The experiments were performed for a low rotational velocity of a crankshaft and a relatively large spark advance angle. We show that the combustion process has many chaotic features. Surprisingly, the reconstructed attractor has a characteristic butterfly shape similar to a chaotic attractor ...
